Sara Bareilles sings, “...let your words be anything but empty…” and I discuss this concept with Eliza Maroney as a guest on her podcast last Spring. AND, in listening back to the podcast, I notice a slightly hollow sound in my voice - an honest revelation of where my head was at.
Never underestimate the power of a person who can connect to their truth and bring THAT voice forward! Maybe you relate, as I do, to the individual who is detached from their real feelings and stories. How often do we find ourselves in a battle with the constant chatter in our head - delivering words that represent half-truths, people-pleasing, and performative behavior.
I am a classic example of a person who communicated with a need for validation and peace - keeping everything palatable. I am convinced that is why I was called into my work as a communications coach. Many of us are called into the work we NEED.
